Terms of service
Last reviewed 26 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Smile Cast. By creating an account or joining a meeting you agree to them. If you use the service for an organisation, you are confirming you may agree to them on its behalf.
1. Your account
Keep your credentials secure and the details on your account accurate. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk.
2. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights;
- upload malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or another account;
- harass, threaten, or record people without the consent the law requires;
- send spam, or attempt to bypass usage limits or security controls;
- upload content you do not have the right to share.
3. Meetings, recording and consent
You are responsible for the meetings you host and the people you invite. Recording must be started deliberately and is shown to everyone in the room. Whether you may record, and whether you must tell participants or obtain their consent first, depends on your local law — that is your responsibility as the host. Do not invite people to a meeting you are not entitled to record.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put into the service — your meetings, files, notes and recordings. You give us the limited permission needed to store it, transmit it and show it back to the people you have shared it with. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it for advertising.
5. AI features
The meeting assistant can summarise a meeting, draft actions and answer questions about it. Its output is generated and can be wrong; treat it as a convenience, not as a record you rely on. If a hosted model is connected by the operator, the relevant meeting content is sent to that provider as described in the privacy policy.
6. Plans and payment
Some features require a paid plan. Plans, limits and prices are shown on the pricing page and may change going forward, with notice. Paid plans renew until cancelled. Unless the law says otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable and taxes are your responsibility. If payment fails we may downgrade the workspace to a free plan.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available, but it is provided "as is" without a warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, add or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will give reasonable notice.
8. Our intellectual property
The service, its software and its branding belong to us and our licensors. These terms give you a right to use the service, not to copy, resell or reverse-engineer it except as the law allows.
9. Ending the agreement
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On ending, your right to use the service stops; sections that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers and liability limits) continue to apply.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or a nominal amount. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of this service is established, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law gives you another forum.
